The scholarship supports semester or one-year grants and research grants for durations ranging from 1 to 9 months.

- Postgraduates pursuing a PhD outside Austria.
- Postgraduates and postdocs seeking to conduct research in Austria for academic careers.
- Postdocs employed as researchers at universities outside Austria.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be 35 years or younger (born on or after October 1, 1989).
- Residency: Must not have lived, studied, or worked in Austria for six months prior to applying.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and/or German is essential.
